Newmarket's Sunday Series Family Raceday featured a debut that had already stirred considerable anticipation for a rarely seen, unraced horse. Godolphin unveiled #3 "TREANMOR," (William Buick). This colt, a €2,000,000 top purchase (Lot 323) from the 2024 Goffs Orby Yearling Sale (Book 1), made a noteworthy first appearance.

Running in a six-furlong novice race, "TREANMOR" settled in the initial stages, showing some signs of inexperience. Buick maintained a firm hold, but fortunately, the colt found its rhythm after the halfway mark. In the final stretch, it demonstrated its class, pulling away by four lengths to easily defeat Vlad, who finished second. This victory also earned a €50,000 incentive bonus, presented by Mark Richards, UK representative of Goff Sales.

Our Chief Editor, Paul Shiu (Yau Tat), was on hand to witness the performance. His trackside assessment: "Despite being just a two-year-old, this colt has a very attractive build with well-defined musculature, strongly reminiscent of its sire 'Frankel'. With an excellent pedigree, it possesses a fantastic presence, and I believe it has a significant chance of helping Godolphin defend their titles in the Dewhurst Stakes and Middle Park Stakes at the end of the season."

Trainer Charlie Appleby shared with ITV Racing: "We were hopeful it was going to be straightforward, he's a straightforward horse to deal with and shows a lot of class. We've been lucky that the two-year-olds have been running well so we had a bit of a gauge on him."

"We've never taken him off the bridle at home so I said to William to be wary of that if he had to ask the question. There should be an abundance of improvement to come. "

"We had pencilled in a plan for the Chesham but he hasn't lacked pace there so we'll see."

As a son of "Frankel," and with a dam's family that includes the Grade 1 Blue Grass Stakes winner "BANDINI," "TREANMOR" is clearly a significant prospect for Godolphin in both the current and future seasons. As a result, British bookmakers swiftly reduced their early odds for the Coventry Stakes, making him a short 5/1 chance. Despite the trainer has suggested Chesham Stakes maybe the next target.
